Trichur Guruvayur visit

Chitra Rajesh Brindha Raghavan Trichur .... Guruvayur visits 5.10.2025 to 6.10.2025 After attending birthdays of great grandchildren Neel and Nitara chikdren of Vipin on 4 th at Palghat we alon g with Sundaram visited Tondiklam Venkatachalapathi temple , Manappallikkavu Bagavathi temple and Simhansthan temple Tharakad During visits to Thondikulam saw the locations where our great forefathers lived Also saw similar house of Brindha family whose forefathers lived Some photos are attached On 6.2.2025 after Chinnamanni's Kanagabhishegam at Kalpathi nearby we two proceeded to Trichur and checked into Pathan's Resudential hotel by 4 PM We wished the grandchildren all blessings , had aasheervadam from Manni on our prostrating in front of her with respect. At Trichur By 5 PM we worshipped famous Vadakkunnathan temple all dieties like Gosalakrushnan , Adhi Shankaracharya, Vadakkunnathan, Ayyappan, Ganapathi, Parvathi , Sankaranarayanan , Sriraman , Ganapathi,etc inside Vadakkunnathan temple Also worshipped Paramekkavu Bagavathi . Had food at Bharath Hotel as well as at Pathan's Next morning that is on 6 th morning say by 7 AM left for Guruvayur temple Had good Darsan by 10 AM returned to Trichur While at Guruvayur had food at Brahmana Samooham by 11.30 and returned to Trichur. Met Parvathi Athimber's youngest brother Nataraju our contemporary In the evening walked through Shoranur Rd to Thiruvambadi Krishna temple at 5 PM and went to Ganapathiyan temple behind Had good worship of both While going to these temples recollected various landmarks where we were upto 1960 like Naikanal Jose theatre Pazhayanadakkavu where periya Manni lived and had her marriage Kottappuram Rd , padinjare nadakkavu etc nearby Vadakke Angadi beginning Dhanalakshmi Bank T R Rama Iyer Textile shop TR Rama Iyer house Appai Ananthanarayanan 's son Prasad at their ancestral shop Entrance road to Vivekodayam school where many of us studied Vadakkechera Old house of Pichan Vadhyar , Kanala Medicals , class teacher PN Rama iyer' s house , Judge Vaidyanatha iyer house , Nala Panchagam , Kousthupam where we big family lived upto 1957 end known as Paruvakkat house Land record office just opposite to Paruvakkat house , Road opposite leading to Palace and grounds Chakola memorial football match we used to witness there yearly Vadakke Angadi Mariyamman koil, Ayyappan cycle shop, etc These are happy recollections of past A few photos are attached Returned to chennai by train on 6 th Oct 2o25 It was really a privileged and divine trip Raghavan and Brindha Among places remembered and seen residences of Dr VN Krishna Iyer Auditor Vythi Seethalakshmi was our Lakshmi's classmate Dentist TS Ganapathy Dr Venkatachalam our family Doctor although he was a compounder Drill master My Clinic of V N Krishna Iyer Barber shop Neelakantan Vegetable shop Pottan Vengichakkutti shop India Coffee house South Indian Bank General Hospital where I was treated for accident fall fin Mango tree St Thomas college Konthai's Central Bank of India CMS school There are less people seen walking and all travel in four wheelers etc Development in business modern shops with brand name seen in USA also found I phones ,modern textiles , IT centres , etc seen in multistireyed new buildings One Sitaram clinic replaced by Geetha Medicals Nadavaramba Krishna brothers shop selling metal lamps , etc found expanded Many more places found modernised except the thekkin kadu surrounding Vadakkunnathan temple found place for regular sportsmen , walking persons etc So that is Trichur cultural capital of Kerala where we lived longer
