Abhivadaye... .Introduction...

Abhivadaye (Sanskritअभिवादये ābhivādye) is a religious practice among Hindu men to introduce themselves to others especially the elders. It is practiced even today widely among the Brahmins.

Face East for pratha sabdhyavandanam..north for Madhyahnikam and West for Sayan Sandhya vandabam...

The mantra will change from person to person depending on his name, Gothra ,and Sutra .

An example.

Abhivadaye...  Angirasa rishi Thrayarsheya..pravaranvitha..Bharadwaja.Gothraha .aapasthamba..soothraha

.yajuhu..Shakhadhyayi.
.vijayaraghava. Sharma.

Naamaham. Asmi..Bhoho...

Meaning. .

OH great one,I an follower of the  pravara Rishi called Angirasa.. .belonging to Bharadwaja Gothra(clab), following the aapasthamba Suthra and a student of Yajurveda and my name is Vijayaraghava Sarma and I am following at thine feet...

Notes. 

The palms of head are kept near ears,the body is bent at waist level and Abhivandanam is recited..

After completion of the recitation,the right forehand crosses above the left forehead,and touch the feet of elders

By Abhivandanam an individual expresses his descent namely dynastic rishis,gotra,sutra,saka and name...
