There are good people and God everywhere......

I was travelling by bus no 47 D from Thiruvanmiyur  to Ambattur today. .At  7.30 AM bus while  passing through Adyar an old lady with her husband and son boarded  the bus wanted to go to Cancer Hospital Adyar. Probably they were not from Chennai. They wanted to get down at the Cancer Institute stop where this bus doesn't stop. This bus passes through the Institute after Madhyalakailash then IIT, Childrens Park, and stops at Gandhimandapam opp to Anna University..and proceeds upto Avadi.......

When the    bus reached the Cancer Institute stop  the traffic signal   appeared  red   ..the bus was  stopped  by the driver   and  allowed the  passengers get them down and go the Institute..right in front .

There are good people  and God everywhere  ..inside the Institute also

Generally Chennai people are good , polite and hospitable...let it continue ...

Precautions to be taken when you are alone

Hardly she has stayed away from me for more than two days after retirement in 2007. During  my service of 40 years,I have been away from her for over seven years on account of Bank's transfers to various places like  Trichur,Quilon,Phaltan,Mumbai Inspection and Audit,Tuticorin,Majhgaon Bihar, etc During such period of separation,  She was happy at Head Quarters Chennai with children taking care of children and all other things.. That is all over .

Now she is away from home  for a fortnight on some urgent domestic work.So it became necessary  for me to cook food at home ...

Especially after rice is cooked, when excess starch or liquid kanji is there, removing it by placing a plate at 45 degrees and allow the hot excess  liquid drop One day the whole thing fell down  when I was removing it from stove, burnt right hand thigh...skin  above the femur  a little. I applied some ointment or face cream easily found .. it became all right ..but when I telephoned her she shouted saying you don't know even this.

Next is switching off gas stove  cooker oven control knob by turning it right or left  after use which I forget invariably and she smells gas and comes running inside This we should take care.

Next is touching hot lid of vessel making sambar etc.  Got fingers burnt two days back. Put. some ointment.  No other medicine...

Similarly, some idukki or hot pakad touched my stomach gave a burn .Again ointment applied.

But did not tell her all these, as her reaction   would increase the pain of burns

But I have seen her getting hurt or burnt similarly despite her long experience and expertise in cooking..When I ask her she says it is nothing .it .will go away .

But she reminds  me daily through telephone by asking....did you switch off unwanted light, fans,AC,,did you supervise the maidservant, did you wash your cloths without using washing machine, did you telephone to any of your people in my absence, did you clean fridge, remove trash, etc ,. Fortunately I don't know telephone numbers of many relatives  and Facebook friends who perhaps know my plight   What to do... This is life..

Errors we make unknowingly..

Among many errors or mistakes we make in life I narrate a few briefly....

I must have been 6 or seven years old. I was studying in 2nd class in Vivekodayam Boys High School,Trichur   My parents although not wealthy used to see children boy or girl wears  golden ear stud always. I too was wearing may be  just 1 sovereign. In the drill class or somewhere I remembered later someone unscrewed and took away my studs. In the house on their asking told them what happened...The mistakes are of parents sending children with golden ornaments and the carelessness of children or call them ...asadu in Tamil they say samarthyam illai...

I was stationed at Bombay for two years working in Inspection and Audit Department of the Bank. I used to visit Chennai once in 3  months where wife and family lived and stay with them for 3 to 4 days adjusting leave,Holiday S,etc.
I was travelling from Mumbai to Chennai in 1998...in II tier compartment...with my box full of Bombay articles for family, children, etc ...golden wristwatch, gold  chain, purse with tickets, money etc.  sleeping on the berth  during night . .I had kept the box unchained to the seat in the side adjacent to door under RAC seats and kept my purse in pant pockets  .After the train  crossing Pune early morning I found  my box, wristwatch, chain, tickets, money, etc missing.  I tried to lodge a complaint at the nearest station but no use  There was no result in my filing complaints at Central Railway Station ..Police.,Chennai on my reaching   Chennai. Here the mistakes were mine.... not tying box to seat, sleeping  without attention of mind

They used to  identify and recognize my nature  in my  house..and say...Raghavana eeasiya emattalam..means you can cheat Raghavan easily     I got encouragement....It added to my talents...Ofcourse my elder sisters Lakshmi and  Bhagavathi along  with my mother used to be innocent or paavum and I used to tell them all matters untrue yet believed by them ..

.
The latest incident   was last week my  giving  the ATM card PIN no to someone over telephone ..who cheated me around Rs 12557.....Mistake mine...never give Password or PIN to anyone...Also donot post or give your cellphone numbers in public network etc. Also donot believe unknown persons....

In 2007 I was returning home in a bus from Puraswalkam Chennai to Mandevalli with my hand  bag and purse in pant pocket containing Bank Card,Driving licence, money etc and near Kilpauk. Bus  Stop when bus stopped I saw fellows getting down in crowd.. One of them had picked my pocket taken purse, cash perhaps thrown out Driving licence,PAN card,Bank Card,..I reached home My daughter Chitra contacted banks got the balances in the account relating to card lost or stolen to some other account, got the lost card hotlisted, etc. It took quite sometime to get new PAN,Driving licence etc..Mistake.. Mine .. should be vigilant in bus travel, never carry original Licence, PAN,etc unless needed.

Ofcourse ladies should avoid wearing gold chains and go alone in secluded places  My wife used to go to nearby Bhuvaneswari temple in Coimbatore  in the morning and evening  2001 or 2002. One evening while she was about to reach the temple near our house walking, two persons riding a TVS 50 moped came near her, stopped the vehicle, snatched a costly  gold chain she was wearing and sped away  The two thirumangalyams and some balls attached  to the chain fell on  the ground which she collected and held safe and brought home  She was injured  in the neck...although she shouted  for help ,nobody from  nearby houses came forward ..She came home crying and there was  no  favourable  result after approaching the nearest police station and  making a complaint ..Here  the...Mistake ..... My wife's.  ..she should not wear gold chain easily visible to others... .should close all parts, ornaments worn,,etc suitably in public places .

We should be careful anywhere in public. We learn by experience and by losing money....Women should take more care and precautions and men should obey them . .

Carry your Personal ID Proof always with you....

I had to rush to Tiruchirapalli by bus a few days back with my wife. ...Probably for the first time  I forgot to carry my ID proof..with me and in bus it was not necessary .

While getting a return rail ticket online  at Turuchirapalli ,it was done by a relative at home  and  I got the SMS in my smartphone  PNR number.,etc  Later it was realized ID proof would be needed for all e tickets  On my contacting my son in law in USA he could trace out my Passport ,scan it and send it to me through e mail .I took a printout of it.

But my wife told me in one of her previous trips I had given her a  copy of her PAN ..and she had to face a situation of paying penalty  She was heard murmuring and complaining about me to others.

Here I got into Pallavan Express with e ticket  at Tiruchirapalli Junction ..and  a copy of my Passport. The TTR verified many e tickets hard copies and others through smartphone, and for some original PAN,etc .When he saw me he would have  been convinced that I was a senior citizen and he asked for  my original ID proof   When I told him the situation under which I travelled etc,he quoted the Railway rules treating such a  journey as  one without ticket and the penalty amount of Rs.250/...or so as per Railway extant rules

He said    ""I am leaving you but if the squad catches you may be fined."" Till I got down at Mambalam Station and came out of  the entrance  reaching  Ranganathan Street,I was afraid I may be fined like my wife who got  caught  once   for not possessing original ID proof

It is required one carries original proof of Identity like Aadhar Card,Voter ID,PAN,Driving licence etc for avoiding similar situations...

What is blood relationship , contract of marriage, what is Divine human relationship and what is Facebook relationship. ?????....,

We are born in this world through a natural process and become the children of parents as related to us  .In a  similar process, our siblings are borne and become related to parents. We become related to our siblings by virtue of being children of same parents or more specifically of same mother and become blood relations...The hierarchy of blood relations get extended through genetic or blood relationships producing legal heirs or coparceners in the universe... linking the ancestors with the descendants...

Brother, sister, mother, father, cousin, uncles, aunts ,etc become blood relations.

One gets married to another person.   Here the relationship prevailing is one caused as a result of legal contract of marriage between a man and a woman.

We come across many persons in the world.  We do not closely observe and feel  the divine qualities or characters of our siblings or Spouse or parents, or our descendants. We  are blessed  in this  world for being in the midst of  certain divine persons  who are not our blood relations..We realise and recognize the said divinity...in  male  or female,on account of  his or her  nature , character, appearance, activities, level of knowledge, attitudes, tolerance, patience ,faith in God, etc.  as perceived by us .We preserve and cherish  them in our minds  and  hearts as God and feel personally associated with them. We wish to remember them, like to see their prosperity and desire for their welfare  .  We feel hurt and unhappy when such individuals are subjected to  any type  agonies in life. We deem  them as Divine and may be we might not have spoken  to or physically  seen such messengers of God.  ..as we donot see  God Almighty in person  or speak directly to God. Of course we can see God in person after developing  faith in Him ,praying Him always with devotion  and realizing his greatness and submitting to Him for attaining Moksha...

Now a group of persons of various interests become our friends in Facebook..we see them through profiles, read their writings, see their family, events ,etc but would somehow feel  them as unrelated social  net work friends.  Many of them would not have seen us in person  and  vice versa .We get option to block or unfriend any of them anytime .

May be there will be other definitions for friendships and relationships But it is absolutely certain that human beings need friends and relations of categories mentioned by me for existence...

Unknown we meet many but known got  mingled  and  live to  depart known to meet again...  with a wish to be born as same siblings, parents, children, descendants, etc....

Bad taste in mouth...temporary.....

This is what I get  to know from website...

A bad taste in the mouth can be a result of a wide range of medical conditions and even everyday situations. Many different kinds of prescription or over-the-counter medications can interfere with the sense of taste and may produce an unpleasant sensation of taste. The feeling of a bad taste in the mouth is usually temporary and improves when the underlying cause is remedied. Consumption of certain foods, or the use of tobacco products, can result in an unpleasant or bad taste in the mouth. Poor dental health and poor hygiene are other potential causes of a bad taste in the mouth.

I am a teetotaller and donot use tobacco products and hence cause from that is ruled out ...

This is a problem....I went to  my Physician ... On 24:12:2015..with slight headache...and bad taste in tongue... He gave a dose of Paracetamol, Ornidazole, some ampicillin or Anti allergy tablets. I became all right .

Incidentally I recollect having taken Nimesulide tablets for some pains  few days back from Drug store  at Tiruchirapalli. That may be the cause for my condition .

Now last week I got same problems...took same dose of antibiotics, etc...feeling better.

It is possible intake of medicines including Aspirin daily without taking vitamin tabs and Calcium tabs may be the reason. Ofcourse other remedial measures like taking butter milk with salt or lassi also appears OK Although we are required to take Calcium tablets daily, it was discontinued and am taking Calcium tablets  from yesterday Also take vendhayam or uluva in Malayalam or Fenugreek Seeds crushed  in water fully dissolved taken may reduce the problem.
""
Fenugreek seeds are used in colic flatulencee, dysentery, diarrhoea, dyspepsia, chronic cough, enlargement of liver and spleen, rickets, gout and diabetes, Also used as carminative, tonic and aphrodisiac.""

No doubt regular brushing teeth with salt rich toothpaste and using mouthwash and tongue cleaner etc also help reduce the temporary problem.

One thing I note is  when you take fruits with sugar content or coffee with flavour and  chicory , the feeling is much reduced.

This must be a regular occurrence for many .I think some Homeopathic drugs may do better.

As a layman I read somewhere it may be due to bacterial infection on tongue. How to find out these bacteria ...?

We have to face all these try to know the cause and remedy...What else to do,???

How do you share sufferings of others???

Life is an opportunity provided to human
beings by Almighty to live...it is the phenomenon occurring as a result of the karma of two individuals..a man and a woman ...destined to live together by the divine will of God Almighty. The said individuals become the human beings instrumental in performing the acts of human  survival in this materialistic world.Everything appears a myth or part of maaya  while delineating the  period of existence through mathematical analysis. Life  is short..but  human deeds and needs   remain extending from zero to infinity during one’s purposeful existence.Realisation of the necessities ,sharing the suffering  of others and involving in the process of peaceful co  existence make life purposeful .  Life  is a  period of time  containing an immiscible mixture of joy and sufferings culminating in one completing the journey  attaining satisfaction or moksha. The theory of rebirth after one’s death would prove the truth that for the good or bad deeds during  your present  existence    will be  subjected to a divine judicial review  on your death  and  you will be allowed to be born again for correcting your errors in previous janma or  realizing  benefits for good action or work in your previous birth.

Basic nature of all human beings are same as the physiological components, mental acumen, longevity in human existence, periods in life such as child, student ,bachelor, married person, parent, grandparent, etc The qualities you possess are  derived either from the genes of your ancestors  or others who have taken care to see children grow well utilise all opportunities in life by getting educated, employed loving the humans and being contented with whatever possessed and complimented by the performance of duties by the children.  A random view of  our contemporaries of humans living with us   convince us the truthful nature of human existence being common to all .

In the process of life one gets married to a person to form a family to take care of both and the progeny  which came as our desire to continue the family  for generations.. The cycle continues further in expansion of family with more humans coming to the world enjoying the natural opportunities available and allowing the members of family lead a peaceful life.

No doubt on account of various reasons all members of a family do not possess same academic levels ,economic freedom etc still the love and affection among the children and siblings continue for ever.

In the event of marriage ,the new chapter begins in life by merger of  two persons being a male and a female. Of Course, mistakes can be committed by anybody. Also sickness can happen to any .But apparently such trivial  matters lead to separation of married life in some cases.Although marriage is just a contract in law, the  cessation  of relation between the couple or wife and spouse  in divorce doesnot annul the relation between a wife and  her husband... One male  is made for another  female companion  by God and no law can separate them.May be in countries like Vatican City or the Philippines the provision for legal separation through divorce is not provided in their constitution or jurisprudence. In India such an important constitutional amendment is yet to materialize...

When I come across sufferings of people on account of health problems or separation from spouse, etc.   it affects my thinking system or mind. Being a human I just imagine the agonies faced by individuals   and their parents ,siblings and the kith and kin forming family .Such eventualities lead to disturbance and loss of peace  of mind among all members of joint families Also mutual disbelief and acrimony result among members of families leading to catastrophic human existence. As an ordinary peace loving human being  ,I  am reminded of  such human agonies  daily .May be if I approach a Physician for my   condition or phobia , he may give me some pills  and if I enquire further  will  direct me to approach  a Psychiatrist. But I realise the situation and try to get the solution within.. Of course, despite my desire to help any affected, the individual characters of the concerned individuals do not allow for finding a solution along with the circumstances prevailing,I think it must be a human nature just to feel unhappy and sympathise  with others  noting them undergoing agonies  in life for no fault of his or her.

Just as I pray God for all good daily,I add my plea in my plaint submitted before God  for  early resolution of problems faced by individuals  acquainted with me through contacts and all others .

Hope that humanity lives happily taking care of others and one's own life partners, children, etc.

Again,I pray for happy life to all .......

I was a classmate of my son Rajesh.

I have heard son and and father  appearing together for SSLC ,son passing the exam….and father failing again….

Here it was a case of me and son Rajesh Parameswaran studying Hindi together and writing exam in same hall and passing together  in First Class.

I had desire to learn Hindi in Hindi Class for exams conducted by Dakshin Bharath Hindi Prachar sabha.I joined Guru Hindi Sikshan Mandir Guttahalli,Bangalore in 1961 when I was in standard 9..I had my friends and classmates like Vinoda,Kalpana,Rukmani,Sridhar, Chandrasekhar, Niranjan Balakrishnan etc Rukmani was my neighbor older than me by 10 years and others similar age .We enjoyed Hindi Class in the evening ...I used to draw an electric wire  from classroom of Government School ,Guttahalli to a Lady Doctor”S house to get temporary electric connection for class from  6 P M  to 8 PM.  We had Gadhyakusum,Kavyakusum,Assi dhin me dhuniya ki sair,Grammar, etc My teachers were Gururaja Rao,Viswanath,Prasanna,Murali,Premsingh etc.I used to be caretaker for Rukku to take her back home after class was over We were staying near the Hindi Class .It was  an easy subject...I passed Prathamic,Madhyama and Rashtrabhasha..all first class. In Madhyama I got state First Rank for Karnataka and in some function got the prize from some Chief Minister. I forget his name. Later  I stopped attending  Hindi Class after joining college in 1963…

.

It was later in 1993 when I was working in Tiruchirapalli I started attending Hindi Class in morning at Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya, near Tennur...We were staying in Thillainagar and it was my walk time to go to Hindi Class. and got my son Rajesh also enrolled as external student.I appeared for Praveshika and Rajesh also was behind me in the exam hall. Both of us wrote  exams in same hall.. near Urayur, got First class..Later as I went to USA  on holidays did not  continue.

But Rajesh's mother used to say ...you must have got first-class in Praveshika by copying Rajesh’s answer papers or he might have written the exam for you. I could not say anything....as I had to defend both....

Later he completed Visharad or something,Chitra was learning Hindi ..told me once she completed Madhyama.

See how both of us studied together,I used to attend classes  he used to read books and guides   I got him . and write,..both appeared for same exams...and got same marks....

Fatherboard or Kitchen Blackboard ????????

I have heard about mother board...in computer...a sheet of plastic that holds all the circuitry to connect various parts of a computer system. It makes all other components function together
.

When I was in USA...Marblehead MA a year back my son in law presented me a black board found unused  in his   IBM  office He told.  .."" appa it will be useful to  you for use in kitchen to note down what to do...etc""...See what it does.... I   write down regulalry  on the board, use it so that the mother in the house works well, I also erase old matter periodically.

The board is linked or connected to mother through free wireless mode.....

A new word   discovered.......FATHER BOARD...

.A picture of motherboard is also shown for comparison....Motherboard is extremely complicated whereas Fatherboard is simple...

Fatherboard is given below and a specimen of mother board also  for comparison.etc...

It is written as Poorvi's Board   as it was hung in kitchen at Marblehead when Poorvi was a kid.I used to mark timings for giving milk to her...bottle and later idli etc at specified intervals and also for changing Diapers as Chitra used to go for work by 9 AM.and Sreekanth used to be busy with meeting call, etc in Office at home...Also we used to note down items to be purchased daily like Milk ,Banana,Vegetables, Provision, etc when we go for shopping in Indian Stores,Walmart, etc. It was a useful board there ..

Motherboard is below

At the age of 32 .... he fell a victim.....our elder brother Balasubramanian.....

I have written in the blog  about  pneomococi Meningitis  at the age of 32    affecting me and my survival etc after medical care, later medications,etc..

..
With extreme sorrow and grief I state the story of my elder brother who fell a  victim to paratyphoid  fever leading to Meningitis..in 1960 at Bombay....

He was just 32,working in   Director of Food and Civil Supplies Department ,Bombay in 1960 and prior to that he was under Training in Customs and Central Excise Department, Ratnagiri where he was unable to continue since the Department retrenched surplus employees. .He got    married in 1958.....at Cannanore,Kerala  to C.R.Kalyani, whose father C.R.Ramanathan was a Resident Electric Engineer,Kerala Electricity Board  .In May 1960,.having fixed a rented house at Kalina ,Chembur ,Bombay for his wife and son seven months old to join ,he was eagerly waiting to see his wife and child whom he had seen for 3days after delivery......A couple of days before,we got the  news he was laid up with paratyphoid  fever..

Later it  was known typhoid, pneumonia and tuberculosis can lead to meningitis....may be  others too....leading to such a  disease affecting brain and spinal cord...It is surprising although he had typhoid earlier it occured again as  paratyphoid...possibly infection through water, milk, etc,,we donot know....
.
.
On 7 th morning June,1960...we got the telegram  from Bombay , when we were at Trichur   .  Our chinnamanni who was with the child at Trichur, .getting ready to leave for Bombay within 2 days ....she opened  and  read  the  telegram...Kuttan passed away...7 AM today...

Sorry........ later  we heard he was  admitted  in some hospital  after his being  in bed at Periyappa"s house at Ghatkopar Rajewadi Estate  where he had gone feeling uneasy and with fever a couple of days ago.....,etc but perhaps nearest relatives  and proper Doctors  were  not with him to give proper medical care for the dreadful disease.  May be had his wife and son reached him earlier, he would have survived ..A lumbar puncture and antibiotic injections would have saved him  ...The family  was left in sorrow for years..he was second child to my parents among 13..fondly remembered by all...

I was 13 years then  and all my younger brother sisters and elders were all children studying in school who shifted to Bangalore in 1960 where our eldest  brother was working  as appa and amma were shocked and unable to live in Trichur with the shadow of son"s death at early age...Ofcourse our family grew up expanded in Bangalore  etc  and that is the  later part of history .

During his visit previous year to  Trichur I remember  my Anna telling our periya manni.....one person  in our family should study medicine and become a Doctor.... Ofcourse his wish  or desire was achieved. .. He  was a Commerce Graduate and his son is  a well placed  Chartered Accountant practising in Palakkad.I may mention his wife Chinna Manni aged 20 at the time of his death, studied B Ed , BSC , etc and  worked as a teacher till retirement in Palghat...

Time heals our sorrow  and we still remember him......

This is the sad story....

A large family...bound together by love and affection among all.. .parents went through many good days and bad days, they brought up the children.... yet they never expressed  about sorrow  or grief....  but     made us grow.. gave us education, got us married to respectable and homeloving women,....saw all daughters married .....who too encountered  problems bravely... We grow further....

Taxicab Number 1729...Ramanujam number 1729...unlucky number for Shobana...1729......

P.VIJAYARAGHAVAN
   30th Jan 2012.......
It is one month since our Shobana left all of us...
SHE WAS BORN ON 17TH DEC   1952 AND PASSED AWAY ON 29TH DEC....2011......MAKING HER NUMBER 1729....

She was the last child in our family whom we lost ...

AS HARDY WAS NOTICING THE TAXICAB NO 1729 A DULL NUMBER AND A BAD OMEN...
IN SHOBANA"S CASE THE NUMBER 1729 WAS RATHER AN UNFORTUNATE NUMBER....

PLEASE READ ABOUT HARDY RAMANUJAM NUMBER 1729 BELOW....
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The following is a famous story told by G.H. Hardy about S. Ramanujan, repeated word for word in various sources:
Once, in a taxi from London, Hardy noticed its number, 1729. He must have thought about it a little because he entered the room where Ramanujan lay in bed and, with scarcely a hello, blurted out his disappointment with it. It was, he declared, "rather a dull number," adding that he hoped that wasn't a bad omen. "No, Hardy," said Ramanujan, "it is a very interesting number. It is the smallest number expressible as the sum of two cubes in two different ways."
To be accurate, Ramanujan should have said "the sum of two positive cubes in two different ways." 1729 has since become known as the Hardy-Ramanujan Number, even though this feature of 1729 was known more than 300 years before Ramanujan. And numbers of its type (the smallest numbers expressible as the sum of 2 cubes in n ways) are sometimes called Taxicab Numbers. 1729=13+123=93+103.
How did Ramanujan know this? Well, he loved numbers. All through his life, he experimented with numbers. As a child, he probably found prime numbers into the many thousands, trying to find a pattern that other people had missed. 1729 is not a prime, by the way. Such a person also examines Pythagorean triples, like 3,4,5 which are of the form 32+42=52. He would search for patterns in these numbers, too. Perhaps he found an equation to generate all possible Pythagorean triples, as such equations exist. Not all numbers can be expressed as the sum of two squares. He probably found numbers that were expressible as the sum of two squares in two or more different ways. It is natural that he examined the sums of cubes (and higher powers) in the same way. He would notice that 1729 came up twice on this list, and he would remember it all his life.
By the way, equations such as c=a3+b3 are called Diophantine Equations, named after Diophantus (sometime in the period 200 BC - 400 AD, probably about 250 AD), when they involve only integers.

We have seen your smiling face in the Face book profile and have downloaded the image to the hard disc of our mind.....and recollect you in our midst smiling...I mention our hard disc in memory as we realize it hard to live without you...although the irony of fate decided...and destined......you being the youngest in a large family of Parameswara Iyer is irretrievably lost by all of us...We all pray for peace of your departed soul in the kingdom of Heaven....Unknown we all met known you departed....leaving and indelible mark for posterity to remember...

As known from history Ramanujam was sick and did not take proper food, medicines, etc while in London ...leading to deterioration of health culminating in his death at the age of 32....(1887_1920)....It is heard improper food as per his orthodox Brahmin stipulations and some unknown sickness not diagnosed caused his ilhealth.Had he been saved through proper diagnosis and treatment through medical science  he  would have  lived longer ,gone much deep into the subject of Mathematics and solved many problems in Mathematics ,etc.It is heard as  said by his wife,  while he was about to die he was just a little skin and bone.

.Shobana too despite health problems from young age ,fought against all odds including loss of husband ,lonely living,,etc etc...lived upto 60....always smiling and enjoying mine or Narayanan's jokes, etc.Despite disability she had come for marriage of Rajesh in 2007 and that of  Chitra in 2010..at Chennai..We visited her in Bangalore. Me,Brindha, ...including Sreekanth and Chitra at her residence in Ramamurthinagar ...and spent happy days  with her never to come back She was particular in providing good food to us...despite so many restrictions for her....  Despite her sickness, she used to listen to our problems like a Physician and advise all cares, medicines. ,etcThat is the end....

My preference for colours .....Karuppu Dhan Enakku Pidicha Coloru...

My preference for colors………Karuppu dhan enakku pidicha coloru….

I have been very adamant and audacious in many matters including selection of color. Incidentally I remember either for my birthday, wife’s birthday, marriage functions of son and daughter, Deepavali, Onam, Pongal etc I used to be offered new cloths expected to be worn by a decent and elderly person. In addition I used to get offer for mayilkannu veshti, safari suit, regular executive suit, etc,,,,But I was  very adamant and used to prefer some T shirts  with colors such as black, red,  green  …these colors perhaps were mismatch or wrong match for my dark color..I also insist on getting some Malayali lungis instead of Panchgacham veshti, etc,,,and my relatives did not bother much s they felt it was good to have such a person who is frugal an doesn’t spend on cloths.. But my wife liked all designs, fashion and traditional madisaru pudavai for all functions.

Before my marriage also I had told my father to  select  a dark   home loving  and obedient  girl  from South India for me so that we match well but somehow he got me a girl  from Tamilnadu known to  one of his contemporaries in Bangalore of a girl who was a little better than dark. Matches and marriages are decided or held in Heaven they say..

I also used these lines sung by Anuradha Sriram and sing in the house now and then  feel  happy  when the wife was not in the house…….the contents of the song are real.

I have read black is the opposite of white. Black absorbs more heat. A black object absorbs all wavelengths of light and reflects none.White color absorbs all wavelengths of light and absorb the least   heat…

I do not know if all these rules or principles or properties of nature  of Physics affect me,

During my thinking time,  I dream I too should have discovered some effects like Raman Effect where when light passes through a change in wavelength exhibited by some of the radiation scattered in a medium. The effect is specific to the molecules which cause it and thus useful in spectroscopic analysis…

Amma cutting vegetables in America

Ammachi cutting vegetables and fruits in America....

We   get  all   types  of vegetables   and fruits  in USA  and most of them we get and use in India . Also many vegetables are grown in  our houses  as we have seen at Hazard KY where my brother  Dr Narayan stays...they grow green chillies, brinjal, ladies finger, tomato, peerkankai,  beans, apple, etc in large quantities. in Fremont CA    where our son Rajesh stays..they have all fruits almond, cashewnut, apples, plum, grapes, mango, etc large number of flowers of rose variety, and in Marblehead Salem MA where our daughter Chitra lives they have apples, brinjal, tomato,  greens , and pumpkin  white and yellow ... also  grown regularly in their backyards, and in New Jersey where our Sudha stays and Tulsa where Sridhar stays...they too have all fruits  and lemon.. narthangai, etc in large quantities. Our daughter Chitra during her Medical Residency at Omaha, Nebraska used to say the state being largely agriculture based with  mechanical tools for plouging, watering, removing, and corns, beans, sugarcane are main crops grown there.

Tartaric acid, Citirc acid, Oxalic Acid, Malic Acid, Ascorbic Acid,Picric acid ,salicyclic acids, and others are found in fruits. Many of the fruits contain fructose which maynot be good for diabetics  but there are fruits contanining less of sugar  and others containing less salt or Sodium chloride etc...which we have to choose as  per needs or body restrictions.Banana fruut contains Potassium but also fructose...so it is  to be decided for consumption for people having bloodsugar level, cholesterol problems ..hypertension etc. Mango fruit contains maximum sugar  content as also date fruit which diabetics should  avoid..Pappaya and koyyappazham are generally preferred for diabetics containing less fructose  but with a little energy, proteins etc..

Some vegetables nuts are  alkaline  like Almond, artichoke, asparagus, avacadoe,Basil, beetroot, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbages, carrot, cauliflower celery, cilantro, cocoanut, cumin, eggplant,Garlic, Ginger, green beans, grapefruit, etc

They may not be acidic also, so that you can get body pH levels alkaline  by  taking many above alkaline foods.

In particular we saee in America   vegetables are are of  huge or large sizes when compared the obes we see in India..and neatly packed in polythene bags after cutting,peeling,washing,etc..
Mostly vegetables and fruits are  received from neighbouring countries...orange,apple, are largely grown in US also.

Okra,egg plant,  etc..are some names...commonly heard.

It is a good experience to see such large number of vegetables fruits etc in USA  and use them...Some of the rare vegetables like Avacado, brussels, etc are very good for health...which we donot get in plenty in India .We see them fresh and neatly packed and any vegetable spoiled  and found unusable is thrown out  and neither sold nor used by any.

In India also we  grow and get a large number of vegetables, greens etc having medicinal properties and we should make use of them as remedy provided by nature or God for our health problems.

There are many herbal preparations as oil, lehyam, kashayam etc as medicines in Ayurveda using herbs and roots of plant used for medical treatment relating to brain or Central nervous system,. called.... Mental disorder/ illness, psychological disorders, psychiatric disorders, etc  and these herbal medicines are found effective....

So nature is abundant with all human needs for existence and survival...

Cutting vegetables is an art or talent  generally  entrusted to the oldest lady in the house  who takes care of   choosing and cutting them so that the sides are neattly peeled, skin removed, internal seads thrown out, pieces are made small in geometric sizes, washed again in  water before using etc.  and AMMA was given that work in addition to cooking,  supervising and tasting the final products...
