Maths textbook I wanted to get.... .

. Numerical and logical thinking play a part in each of these everyday activities, and in many others. A good understanding of maths in everyday life is essential for making sense of all the numbers and problems life throws at us.

My knowledge of Mathematics I made use reckoning blogs  authored by me since 17 th Oct 2015 till today...almost after  360 days. .this blog being the 80th....and pageviews exceeding 18100....so far. That is statistics...

In Astronomy I  came across study of  celestial objects ..study about sun,moon,,earth,stars,meteors,etc....we come across eclipses, equinoxes, milky way, galaxy of Stars, etc During my BSC  Degree course came across Pythagorean theorem, hyperbola, parabola, circles,Dynamics,Statics,Statistics,Probability theory,Vector Algebra,Co ordinate Geometry, etc. I was good  in Integral Calculus,Differential Calculus and Differential Equations....Later I learnt a little about Actuary while working with an insurance company after retirement. But I feel I am yet a zero in Mathematics....desired to master Maths but turned out to be a zero ..

I hear my granddaughter singing....

Here are nine planets that we know.
Round and round the Sun they go.
Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars,
These are the planets near our star.

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, too.
Neptune, Pluto, we can't see you.
These are the nine planets that we know.
Round and round the Sun they go.

It was during my admission in PUC class  at St Joseph"s College,Bangalore in 1963,I came to learn about Algebra,Trigonometry,Geometry, etc and came to know the vast scope of Mathematics .

This is an e mail sent to my college fruebds....

Dear friends....Sorry for troubling you all...I remember there was one Text Book of Mathematics prescribed for PUC during our time...published by St Joseph"s College,Bangalore..I think..It contained Algebra,Geometry and Trigonometry...I used to have it..and bring it to class daily..There were worked out examples...and simple  or complex equations....like a to the power x multiplied by a to  the power  y will  be a to the power  of x plus y...or Log ab equals Loga plus log b. and similar ones...b or Sin(A+B)=SinACosB+CosASinB. Etc..I am recollecting from my memory after 4 decades...I did not get sufficient time to  study and master all the material contained in the Book then..If someone in Bangalore or Maths Lecturer Lakshmana Rao would be able to get a copy of that book or the place Where it will be available,I would be glad to get it..Sorry,if it is difficult, forget about it....I mean difficult to get it...Thank you...

I reproduce a letter of confession written to one of my well-wishers...a software genius....

My latest blog comments or subsequent blog would have been read by you .You can know my position.of thinking... .one who wishes for good of all others.Of course, I am frank, blunt and forthright  in expression and sympathetic towards whole world. Being blunt and frank,I have earned   a bad name among  some of them in the family, .despite being sympathetic, loving and adjustable .

I have not seen you and have not spoken to you. I am neither  a psychiatrist nor  any physician ,but  a human being  and have been able to know you ……...

I know you are busy with your  Official work, domestic commitments, personal pre occupations, etc and  I have still used your valuable time now and then to make you get mingled in mundane matters  presented by me  through network  enabling you forget  a part of your Google search or any other search  engines.I confess I express more than what I know in various subjects. In Physics Degree Answer papers, I used to  copy down the question papers in the middle of answers ...so that the quantity of answer papers got increased. . getting some grace marks to scrape through..the exam.I got short sight or myopia of eyes, while studying  in High school  .I could not see what  was  written on Blackboard  Properly …...Archimedes Principle,.Pythagoras theorem, Valency , Geometry  theorems, riders, etc  I  got  my eyes checked  at  Bowring and   Lady Curzon  Hospital near Shivajinagar,Bangalore .I remember my father coming with me there for getting eyes dilated, tested, etc I .Started wearing  spectacles while in PUC. .at the end of academic year..Here also I used to sit on the bench  near the blackboard  in classrooms at St Joseph”S College,,but could not see and follow  fully all working on the board. The subjects were ,  Algebra,Geometry,Trigonometry, Chemistry, Physics... etc... this prevented me  from  acquiring knowledge and  scoring high marks in SSLC,PUC,.and getting admission to study Engineering.. Or Medicine .It was my father’s  desire that  I studied Medicine or completed IAS. Fate decided otherwise. Biology was found difficult to study from books  and memorise, Mathematics became  easy to learn  by scribbling ,writing ..alpha,beta,Gamma, numerals, alphabets all on floors, walls and waste paper..  My father got  me admission in St Joseph’s College with  less marks in SSLC... .After BSC, I wanted to  master Mathematics and specialize in Actuary...Younger brother was studying Medicine and elder Engineering.   and the middleman had to search  employment   which I got  before my BSc results were announced  in 1967 and  tried to help the family .

Despite restrictions and control at home,I used  my liberty in knowing about human physiology, medicines, etc. through books, media, web, etc  although it is stated self medication is not good. You know there is an etiquette in Medical profession. .nearest blood relations should not treat their relations. as such none of my people ever enquire about my health. My wife who is not a Physician but my companion only says .’’you are alright. .nothing is wrong with you... taking food 4 times a day and sleeping ‘’ So she is my family Doctor ... of course I take care of her. .she doesn't know  even names of medicines she has to take daily,.  the  composition,etc.. She complains to everyone I stock a lot  of medicines ,take them unnecessarily,etc...

So that is part of Mathematics of my life.....

Library and habit of reading...

Library and habit of reading....

During the period of children attending schools leading to various levels of academic graduations, the habit of reading books constitutes an important and necessary activity strengthening the education obtained in schools.. Apart from concentrating and studying subjects such as Mathematics,Sciences,Geography,History,Politics,Accounting and others through school curriculum and the books, practical tests, etc there is a larger area of learning .It is  reading through books in multifarious matters.Library is the place where you have access and availability of books on all subjects such as History,Civics, fiction, science, drama and all others .Libraries are made compulsory functioning in all places like  schools, colleges,Institutions .There are  Government run libraries in all cities towns and rural area also .

It is obvious that reading books have a number of benefits a few of them I state below...

If you are among the countless people who don't make a habit
of reading regularly, you might be missing a lot ....reading has a number of benefits. , a few of them are given below.

Mental stimulation can be ensured through reading.Reading can slow the process of Alzheimer's,Dementia, etc as the muscles in brain  get exercise through reading.

In daily life, when you face stress, through personal relationships, reading a novel can provide you relief.

Whatever you read, adds up to your wealth of knowledge and increases your vocabulary, comprehension of any language.

While reading a. Book you have an assortment of of characters to 'remember and increases your short-term memory...

Your analytical thinking skills, develop by reading books..

In an internet spread world, your brain is fully strained and engaged browsing, searching, seeing and analysing multifarious tasks, reading any book in between will reduce the stress and prevent damage to your brain  .

Better writing skills are, gained through reading books

Reading a good, book can fetch tranquillity, relaxation of mind, reduce hypertension and help people suffering from minor mental disorders and illness

Moreover reading provides, entertainment also

I recollect my journey through Libraries and books from Childhood..

As a primary and middle school student till 1960  at Vivekodayam Boys High School,Trichur.,I could get some books of Library distributed in class .My elder brother from Bombay and sister in law,etc used to see magazines, newspapers, etc delivered at home by Public Library,Town Hall,Trichur. They used to send me to the Library for returning some books taken and for taking new books from Library. Some of them were Malayalam story books which I used to read. Thus my association with Library had begun.Near Thiruvambadi temple ,Trichur also there was a Public Library and reading room...I used to enter there, see people reading in pin drop silence and read front pages of Malayalam newspapers like Express,Mathrubhomi, etc. .

In Bangalore since 1960 my eldest brother used to take me to American Library near present Corporation Office ,JC Rd ,where I could read a few words in English from magazines,books,etc..Later after joining St Joseph's College as a student, I got membership at British Council Library,St Marks Rd,used to go there in evening while returning from College with some books. While studying Law later in Renukacharya Law College,Bangalore, I used to take some Law Books,Reports, etc from British Council. In addition I used to get German news, from the Office they had near St Joseph's College, used to take the glossy newspaper home and read the contents ....While in Bank  after 1968 while appearing for CAIIB exams,I used to take books from SBI study centre ,read them along with some guides published like Suneja and book on Foreign Exchange by Keshkamath or RBI publication on Public Finance..

While in St. Joseph's College,I had a big Library and reading room.Students were alliwed to take 3 books every time and had a good catalogue of  books.I used to return and take more books like on religion,Politics ,Cinema, and less on subjects  of study but used to be a frequent visitor cum  user of books from Library .

Later as an employee of Bank of India had occasion to be a member of Library in many places like Bangalore,Jamshedpur,Tiruchirapalli,Dharmapuri,Coimbatore and Chennai .In Chennai the  TamilnadustateGovt Library is  in Thiruvanmiyur very near my house. After retirement in 2007 from service ,I go there read books, magazines, etc  I take home books on Constitution,Music,Cooking,Chemistry, Politics,Applied Mathematics,Nuclear Physics.etc...three books at a time...bring home, read and enjoy. These books on subjects I read less during College days but compensate now since there are no examinations to write.

During my visits to USA since 2007 my daughter in law took me to Library at Austin,Texas ,son in law took me to Libraries in Salem MA,Santa Clara CA. etc...Libraries are larger and are well maintained in USA.

With the advent of digital media where the contents can be transmitted through internet or computer networks, internet ,e reading, etc more people are seen reading books, etc through Kindle tablet,Laptop computers, etc while at home, journey, restaurant, etc .The per capita reading population has increased tremendously with easy access to internet communication channels.
,

It can be opined and universally accepted that  the habit of reading is purposeful and Libraries are centres where books are available in plenty.

Golu versus Avani Avuttam

Navaratri (Sanskrit: नवरात्र) is a festival dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity Durga. The word Navaratri means 'nine nights' in Sanskrit, nava meaning nine and ratri meaning nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Devi are worshipped.

Bommai Kolu/ Bomma Golu/ Bombe Habba is a doll and figurine display festival celebrated during the festival of Navratri in Southern India, it is customary in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh . Yajur Upaakarma Sankalpam

This year 2016 we are,in California..CA...We were present at Fremont CA where our   son  Rajesh stays for construction of Golu padis..etc. Last Sunday a few neighbourhood families came for seeing Golu.Amma accompanied Shwetha our daughter in law to a few houses for seeing golu and getting prasdam..We have come to Santa Clara CA  where  our daughter Chitra lives who also has golu at home A few,of her Hospital friends or colleagues come and others too for seeing golu.So that is golu this year...We are happy to see our grandchildren Dhwani Poorvi Jahnvi wearing new dresses, enjoying, singing songs....Aadhiparameswari,Twinle Twinkle,etc...

Avani Avittam is an important ritual associated with the Brahmin community in the world. The day is of great significance to Rig, Yajur, Sama Vedic Brahmins. On the next day, Gayatri Japa Sankalmpam is observed. In other parts of South India, the observance is known as Upakarma.

On the day of Avani Avittam, the sacred thread worn is changed and it is usually a community observance and takes place on the banks of a pond or river. Avani is the name of the Tamil month and Avittam is one of the 27 nakshatras or stars. On this day, a Mahasankalpam or a vow is taken for atonement of all our sins in the past year. The Brahmins take a holy dip and wear a new holy thread called Yajnopavit or Janeyu.
The first step is a ‘prayashchita’ A prayer to atone the sins. It says, “For the removal of all my sins and thereby to secure a divine blessing and for qualifing myself to perform the essential duties of Brahmanas as prescribed in the vedas and smritis and adopted by the really good in their conduct I put on this Yagnopavita”. When the thread is worn another mantra is recited which means -”I put on the sacred thread which is highly pure, is inseparable from God, is capable of prolonging life and is the foremost in the accomplishment of a Brahmana. May such pure Yagnopavita bring strength and dignity.
While removing the old thread, the mantra means -”I throw away the broken dirty old thread, may the new one bring on long life and Brahmana’s brilliance.

While Golu iis considered and utilised by women folk with children getting new dresses, etc girls go and see golu,,sing songs and get some gifts ...For Avaniavittam boys get up early,go for avani avittam house to house  or .kovanam trips, return home and take breakfast

Avaniavattam used   to start in the early morning   with young boys taking a  Stick of Palasa  tree(Plasu)   and going to every Brahmin home  in the village   jointly shouting. ...

  “Avaiavattam Komanam ,

   Ambi poranthal Shobhanam

Akka  porantha Ukkarai,

Ammaan porantha Ayiram panam,

Patti porantha Bakshanam

Patta  porantha  Pazhukka  Vadi

.Later Brahmacharis accompany parents for  changing mantras, yagnopaveetham..changing sacred threads..have Vedarambam.etc ..return home after homam.and have good meals with neyyappam,,vada,etc..Non Brahmacharis get fake or kallappoonal to wear and one feels happy wearing poonal.
as licenced to get married .Here  Avani avittam  although meant for males females participate in Avaniavittam by wearing madisaru sarees, observing Pooja, cooking good food, obeying husband, father in law, etc  for the day and prepare the men for Gayathri Japan next day.The Brahmins have to chant Gayathri 1008 times next day as required..

Music I like.......

We enjoy music. Music is an eternal asset possessed by humans
for sharing with the universe.. The listening of good music has both active and passive effects ...Let us listen to more such music and feel blissful being in heaven on earth..

. A few activities that can help reduce stress or safeguarding health  are gardening, deep breathing, taking a walk, working on your hobby, meditating, listening to music. Other ways to prevent stress include taking to others in your family or a support group or even your doctor.

For most people, music is an important part of daily life. Some rely on music to get them through the morning commute, while others turn up a favorite playlist to stay pumped during a workout. Many folks even have the stereo on when they  are  cooking a meal, taking a shower, or folding the laundry.

By listening to music the harmonious vibration of vocal or voice of instruments generate particles penetrating into human brains through hearing and influence parts of body remaining sick getting cured.Probably psychiatrists suggest such remedies to individual suffering from mental illness or any psychiatric disorder...
,
The Indian musical Trinity consists of the following composers.

Thyagaraja Swami   1767 _1847...Telugu and Sanskrit…

Muthuswami Deekshidhar...1775_1835

Sanskrit,...400 compositions..

Syama Sastry.  1762_1827…

Telugu,Sanskrit...400 compositions.

Out of 24000 compositions of Saint Thyagaraja Swami only  700 are available today...

We are privileged to be born in India, a place having given birth to the musical personalities and among many others the
Saint Thiagaraja who was a disciple of Rama composed innumerable songs in Karnatic music. He sacrificed his life for praying Lord Rama through his musical concerts and compositions and had Dharshan of Almighty by singing and realising God through his songs. We are born to continue his tradition and learn music and sing   songs and also listen to music of all types whether Indian western or others ultimately resulting in mental peace and divine bliss.

As matter of respect to the sage and composer Thiagaraja   I give below a write up on Pancha ratna kritis of Thiagaraja swami…

Thiagaraja was a saint who lived in Thiruvayyaru, Tamilndau during 18th to 19th Century. He was an ardent devotee of Lord Sri Rama. He has composed a large number of keerthanas and are considered t be the finest.
Pancharatna kritis are five in number four of them being in Tamil and he fifth in Sanskrit. These kritis are set to ragas…Nata, Gauta, Arabhi, Varali and Sri. The keertis praise Hindu Deity Rama They are set to Adi Thala. The style followed is ragam, Thanam and Pallavi,
The Pancharatnakritis are….
1, Jagadananda karaka… Natai raga…
2. Dudukhu Gala,,Goula
3. Kanakana…Ruchara….Varali
4. Endaro Mahanubhavulu…Sri Ragam
5. Sadinchana ..Arabhi….

During Thiyagaraja  Aradhanai day every year musicians and others come to Thiruvaiyaru and sing together the Kritis   which are marvelous

My friends,teachers ...I remember...on desktop screen...

In the journey of life we come across many of our relatives as parents, siblings, children, grandchildren,d aughter in law, mother in law, sister in law father in law ,son in law..and spouse too... appearing all in laws some through legal contracts such as marriage adoption,etc.....I don't know if they are reckoned so in any law or jurisprudence.Perhaps the genealogy of Hindu Joint family system traces all these individuals treating some as  coparceners and others as members..The legal status or rights or implications of the legal heirs including children spouse, etc in claiming estate of a person by the descendants or  successors are contained in the law books dealing with Succession Acts or Hindu Law etc....In short an eternal family tree is created growing further and further getting extended by marriages of children ,arrival of progeny etc.

It is hereby reminded living single by individuals destroys the spirit of our joint family system .....a happy and contended married life between individual ensures creation of family Dynasty growing for ever.

There are others being our school or college mates, colleagues at work ,teachers, all other friends .We rarely meet some of them later. We have contacts and friendships through many in Facebook whom we perhaps donot get opportunity to meet even once  I feel so ...and my Facebook friends may reciprocate....

It is possible to remember some.

.I reproduce a message sent to my College mates..at St Joseph's College,Bangalore....four decades after parting with them on graduation in 1967...

Walking or talking... choose between them....

Walking or talking ....choose the better one....
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have developed the habit of walking from my childhood....I recollect my walking from house  to Vivekodayam High School,Trichur until   7 th standard, upto 1960 .. later to Seshadripuram High School,St Joseph's College,Bangalore  as a College Student.....later while in service in Bank of India in many places..This was  in addition to my walking with my parents, sistets, brothers,,manni, etc to Malleswaram from Guttahalli etc during childhood regularly ...Since it was a free item perhaps I chose it.After marriage while walking with spouse,it was found she walked very slowly ,I had to turn back often and she was still slow. That is old story.  Now  her speed has retarded.

Later after marriage in 1974 , in addition to walking talking also found an important place in our agenda , when my spouse who is vociferous and talks much gave me partnership.Incidentally I avoid talking to anyone over telephone but  I hand over the phone to my spouse when there is a call from our son, daughter and others...or her mother. She talks to them for minimum half an hour daily. With that her time available for walking or walk is found insufficient and part of her quota for day's talking filled up .

Now during our visits to USA since 2007 ...we were asked to go for walk daily in places like Salem MA,Marblehead.MA,Nebraska,Hazard KY,Austin. Texas,Fremont or Santa Clara CA....being medical  requirements  advised for us.But during such combined walk it was stipulated as no talking between us lest it would culminate in arguments ,fights etc in public

Now during our recent visit since July 2016  while  in Fremont CA...she is free...in the morning I go for walk and she goes in the evening...She goes in a route covering concentric circles while I go on straight parallel roads and the circumference of her circular path being always less than length of my long walks.

I read somewhere benefits of walking and talking.....I chose walking she grabbed walking and talking....got the double benefit...

May be walking is required and talking also needed to survive as seen from below....

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

You have heard it before: Moderate physical exercise helps prevent and reduce the severity of chronic disease, such as high blood pressure and diabetes, and also improves mood and mobility. Walking — a form of exercise that is accessible to almost everyone and doesn’t require special equipment or attire (other than comfortable shoes) — counts as moderate physical exercise.

How a talking or talking therapy can help

Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger than to relatives or friends. During talking therapy, a trained counsellor or therapist listens to you and helps you find your own answers to problems, without judging you.

The therapist will give you time to talk, cry, shout or just think. It's an opportunity to look at your problems in a different way with someone who will respect you and your opinions.

Usually, you'll talk one-to-one with the therapist. Sometimes talking treatments are held in groups or couples, such as relationship counselling.

Although there are lots of different types of talking therapy, they all have a similar aim: to help you feel better. Some people say that talking therapies don't make their problems go away, but they find it easier to cope with them and feel happier.
================================ =======================

Talking To Yourself Is Healthy. Some people jokingly say they talk to themselves because they are the only ones who will listen. Yet it's no joke that talking to yourself is healthy, according to a new study, and it's good for adults as well as children.

Mathematics I desired to learn

This is an e mail sent to a Software Engineer at IBM Bangalore....who authors many items in blogs .
******************************************
Read when free…I treat you as my Computer teacher…….I learn many words like Watson, Swift, Java…etc…I read somewhere in Bangalore more people know Java than  Kannada…Probably I would have sent messages, letters, e mails, etc and comments in your  blogs, or through page viewer of blogs, Face book posts, uploads, and my   contents of blogs    assuming to be read by you over ….50 blogs…being the maximum  correspondence to a single person…..I rarely communicate with others in black and white, email, etc,,,
I couldn’t count the actual number of words…and characters contained in the above communication. However on a rough estimate and not though any actuarial or mathematical formulae, I could arrive at…..  the    arithmetical figure   69000 apparently an unproductive work, but thought might keep on record…..
Face book messages…around 110 pages…each page containing 300 words…                                                                                                   =                                      =33000
E mails…attachments…….   Roughly……..50 X 200                                                     = 10000
Comments in your blogs……….                   20X300                                                        = 6000
My blogs around 50 X400 (average)    probably read by you                                   = 20000
                    (Probably figures incorrect….)                                                                                                    ___________________________________________________
Total   words                                                                                                                       690000       =    (33000+10000=6000+20000)
                                                                                                              ______________________________________________________
I don’t know much to convert it into computer terminology but somewhere found one word is equal to two characters…
So number of characters…….69000X2 equals 138000………….period Oct 2012 to 6th June 2016…..6.6.16…..
Did You Know About 6/6/66, the Day That Forever Changed the Economy of India
Half a century ago, June 6, 1966 - or 6/6/66 - turned out to be a defining day in independent India's economic history. It was the day on which Indira Gandhi devalued the rupee by 36.5%, increasing the dollar's value against it by 57.4%. The move sparked bitter, nationwide criticism.
During College days, In Astronomy Classes I have heard term like light hour .light second ,etc, …and remember it here……
_The light-second is a unit of length useful in astronomy, telecommunications and relativistic physics. It is defined as the distance that light travels in free space in one second, and is equal to exactly 299792458 meters (just over 186282 miles
The number of characters hereinabove is less than the value of a light second…although a wrong comparison of variables…
I had forgotten to mention my following the geometrical figures or Conics section of my Mathematics Professor
……like     circle, ellipse, parabola, hyperbola, etc…..imagining them and applying them in drawing pictures….
Even the Pythagoras theorem based on a right angled triangle inspired me to be right always  .It also made me remember a  pictorial shape of a  square, rectancle, triangle, quadrilateral, hexagon, pentagon, trapezium, equilateral triangle, isosceles   triangle, ,etc,,,,
A conic section is the intersection of a plane and a cone. Ellipse (v) Parabola (v) Hyperbola (v) By changing the angle and location of intersection, we can produce a circle, ellipse, parabola or hyperbola; or in the special case when the plane touches the vertex: a point, line or 2 intersecting Did you know that by taking different slices through a cone you can create a circle, an ellipse, a parabola or a hyperbola?

Cones

Circle
straight through
Ellipse
slight angle
Parabola
parallel to edge
of cone
Hyperbola
steep angle
Don’t take this seriously…just to divert your attention…read when you are free………Regards
Please excuse spelling mistakes and arithmetical inaccuracies…

Infinity was another idea which occurred to my mind while learning Mathematics….Srnivasa Ramanujam   , Mathematician…. saw infinity in Mathematics….
Infinity has no end
Infinity is the idea of something that has no end.
In our world we don't have anything like it. So we imagine traveling on and on, trying hard to get there, but that is not actually infinity.
So don't think like that (it just hurts your brain!). Just think "endless", or "boundless".
If there is no reason something should stop, then it is infinite.

Infinity does not grow
Infinity is not "getting larger", it is already fully formed.
Sometimes people (including me) say it "goes on and on" which sounds like it is growing somehow. But infinity does not do anything, it just is.
Infinity is not a real number
Infinity is not a real number, it is an idea. An idea of something without an end.
Infinity cannot be measured.
Even these faraway galaxies can't compete with infinity.

Infinity is Simple
Yes! It is actually simpler than things which do have an end. Because when something has an end, we have to define where that end is.

**********************************************************
Then comes ZERO……… 0…………
Zero is the only integer which means no objects are present. It is the only real number which is neither positive nor negative.
Any number multiplied by Zero is again Zero..
Of course these numbers Zero, Infinity, etc make us realize the maxima and minima of universal truths and the unfathomable limits extending to infinity in many others...
Finding Maxima and Minima using Derivatives
Where is a function at a high or low point? Calculus can help!
In a smoothly changing function a low point (a minimum) or high point (a maximum) are found where the function flattens out :
Of course learnt a few decades back, in Integral Calculus and Differential Calculus, maxima and minima were applied in problems .
__________________________________________________________________________
(PS .copied from website……)
Although principles of Logarithms were learnt and used, the concept of algorithm applied in Computer Science now was not in vogue those days when we were students. We also missed the advantage of cut, copy and paste facility those days as computers had not arrived for use…all our writings being manuscript one could perhaps copy some pages from a book, guide or answer sheet of neighboring student in the exam hall etc and nothing from memory as it used to be empty….or with limited capacity unlike the infinite capacity sizes of microchips of computer circuitry……,
I think   we must pause for a while…. I state the color of font blue is chosen for the one from the Big blue…….( Disambiguation )

Our sojourn at Hazard KY with Parvathi and manni

Our sojourn at Hazard KY....a fortnight preceding to Ram's marriage at Michigan ...
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Being on visit to USA since July 2016 it was decided to go to Hazard KY  some days in advance in joining the Narayanan's family and being of some help in the days preceding the marriage on 4 th Sept at Michigan...

My eldest sister  Parvathi was married when I was 6 years old and remember being in our large family at Trichur during her marriage . There were no occasions for us to be within four walls of a house and live as brother and sister .Ofcourse I had occasions to be in Bangalore where she was since 1963 for a few yeras But during my present visit to Hazard ,she was also there. It was pleasant. I could spend a few days with her in Hazard and during the marriage of Ram at Michigan ...

She is very firm ,blunt, frank and very transparent in her views. Being eldest in family whatever opinion she expressed used to be accepted as correct. She was particular in food being a pure  vegetarian would not like any dish containing onion or garlic  It was very meticulous of her to see her wash and clean the utensils used for drinking coffee, etc Being a teetotaler she had an anathema towards use of any word denoting any form of alcohol. No less particular she was about the dress code and didn't much like the garments, costumes, style, etc of modern generation.

She had a good command over English  language,.and other subjects like cricket world history ,Geography, epics, temples,,etc ..Much knowledge she possessed about cinema stars, movies, etc and liked
Kannada,Malayalam,Tamil but not Hindi. She used to call herself an experienced critic in many matters.

Now and then she used to speak high of Bangalore and her children, grandchildren, etc. No doubt she enquired about all others in the family now and then.

She had a smartphone brought from India ...I had opportunity to guide her in charging it regularly, keeping the phone within her reach ,using WhatsApp,Facebook, etc although she was not fully conversant with the computer system etc. In the morning when I get up for coffee I used to see her sitting in front of Apple desktop computer  ,reading news, etc and I just showed her how to contact friends, send message, etc in Facebook....

She used to express her pang of separation from children, grandchildren etc in Bangalore and was desirous of returning to India soon.Ofcourse  having come to USA from India she had not seen many places in USA Initially during her journey to Nashville there was flight delay at New York and had to stay there with her nephew Karthik who had accompanied her from Bangalore and she used to narrate all difficulties she faced at New York etc

While at Hazard she had chance to go to Louisville and watch Tamil movie Kabali with Narayanan and probably didn't relish it and came out of the theatre in the middle. She used to recollect and state her opinion.

We used to spend time discussing politics, seeing movies in TV,she used to watch all Tamil serials...many and enjoy the characters, criticise them etc and spend time

She had occasion to meet Doctors at Hazard...Dr Yalamachi Dr Roy Varghese,Dr Lilli,Dr Kantha abd others and probably visited some of  them at their residences .Also went to ARH Cancer  Center Hazard KY.l Pitza Hut,etc and Hazard Pavilion..

She would avoid going near the dog at home but would be happy to pose for any camera clicks etc.

Now and then she would criticise the food, surroundings, etc

It was a most memorable time I spent at Hazard in the presence of sister Parvathi and manni.

Children used to be fond of Parvathi athai and Periyamma or manni and enquire about them always.

Ofcourse she used to remember the difficult times she had and the recent demise of her daughter Susi but would feel satisfied and contended having served 26 years in Canara Bank and had brought the children up well educated and settled in life. She used to telephone and inform her children daily with uptodate news at her place

I had privilege of being with her during marriage journey from Hazard and the wedding of Ram and Gunjan at Michigan..which she remembers as one of her memorable occasions.

I realise I would have been more disciplined and well behaved had I lived for a longer period as her brother in the family

Today,She telephoned to me expressing her depression on account of our separation from her

This is written in a hurry so that she may read it and others may know what is the essence of relationship and attachment between a sister and a brother...

We should be careful..and take care.....

This is the e mail  reply sent to the author of a blog. of  a  Software Engineer at IBM...Bangalore who advised me to write blogs last year. I observe  having written 70 titles  in blog since then and am searching or discovering subjects for continuing the blog ...My blog...Sarve.Janaha Sukhino Bhavanthu. active .. since 2007 has pageviews over 17845....

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Saw your blog regarding billing MRP ,etc at some mall Bengaluru.Yes,we should be careful. Again I add a real event...was hesitating to send the report to you....may read.  You must be busy with your IBM.... ensuing event or exhibition.Although a layman with no infrastructure, software, hardware and technucal knowledge ,felt happy to learn a few things through you  like..

Thinkpad,Lenova,Lotus Blue Mix...may be wrong....and

Watson...have heard about him, etc. We have gone and stayed at Poughkeepsie,New York and old centre.Cloud,Java,Swift, etc read and added my superfluous knowledge.I have a long letter to you about Mathematics Infinity,Zero, theta, gamma, etc shall send after you are free from the work of Big Blue.

Now the story....

Chitra.. one short story related to Hb A1C..Blood sugar level...Wrong  medicine..etc..

You said. "" Take care uncle..""but I did not

My wife was away for 2 months   from house.and I was alone at home While she was at home she used to monitor my food   intakes ,avoid items advised to be not taken and include items found medically conducive to T2D.H (Type 2 Diabetics..with Hypertension ) persons...and I used to watch, control and restrict her food, monitor regular intake of medicines, reminding regular walk, exercise etc.  and taking stipulated food..avoiding prohibited items,etc...

It was during this period of 2 months I had to cook my food I did not know making chappathis ,etc which I used to take during nights In the morning breakfast used to be 3 slices of wheat bread with some non oily brinjal or ladies finger side dish.Ofcourse we donot buy or use sugar even when we were non diabetics...Again banana, mango, grapes, butter, ghee, iccream, etc were avoided . Only Sunfeast Marie biscuit was used .none else...

While I was alone I used to cook rice make sambar ,curry,.etc take it three times with curd. For breadslice I used to buy jam, peanut butter, so many cream biscuits ,etc   and  consumed avoided items.Elakki plantain, banana,Rasthali, ,chips, chocolates, almond, cashewnut walnut,,etc from fridge I used to take daily. With the result when I went to Eye Clinic for cataract they found out the quarterly average HbA1c .higher...I went to Physician who  gave some stronger doses of metformin, etc to reduce the level.Hope I will be normal soon.

Similarly her figures also went up being free at brother's house and medicines given to bring down levels.

So I should have taken care as advised by you.

We went to the Physician....he said intake of excess sugar content for last one quarter  and prescribed Glycomet GP2. in..the place of Glimisave M 1 containing 500 mg metformin twice a day presently used. He prescribed Glycome GP2 containing Metformin same 500 MG plus 2 mg glimepiride.I took the tablets came home started taking as advi. For 2 days I experienced giddiness,,fainiting sensation etc.I got suspicious and checked the tablets given and found it was Glycomet M 2 Forte containing 1000 mg metformin in each tablet. The excess consumption of metformin n perhaps has lead to heaviness in head.I got the information about ingredients of tablets through network. it is beceassry we check the correctness of tablets and verify its contents through net search.
Hope I did not confuse you..+++++

Tying the thali or the mangalsutra around the bride's neck by the groom is one of the most important rituals of a hindu wedding.

While the groom ties three knots, the pundit chants this sloka which means; “This is a sacred thread. This is essential for my long life. I tie this around your neck O maiden having many auspicious attributes. May you live happily for a hundred years (with me).”

Varalaksmi Vratham ..12.8.2016......

These are comments to a most valuable and informative blog dated 30.8.2015...
http://www.drikpanchang.com/festivals/onam/onam-thiruvonam-date.html?l=8657
I repeat my comments  made  in 2015.. for perusal, observance, meticulous conpliance of the traditional requirements and for obtaining blessings from  Goddess...Lakshmi by the women.
..

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Chitra...has given a detailed explanation about the Varlakshmi Vratham.or Nombu...here enlightening women and men of Brahmin families to know the significance of such vrathas. Ofcourse we or men feel totally unaware of these rituals done my pious holy and orthodox women in families performing pujas/nombu/vrtha for the welfare of whole family observing various strict requirments. As seen, it is prevalent in families who commenced observing Varlakshmi puja and being continued by their descendents (daughter in law ),etc. Genrally people feel any vratha means some form of fasting incuding the ones done by persons of other religions which ultimately found good for health as fasting ocasionally is medically recognised advice for repairing your digestive or intestinal system. In this Varakshmi vratham or Nombu  as explained by Chitra we get more insight into the significance of such a boon granted by Goddess Lakshmi to worshippers with a story behind it. It is evident that even Gods or their consorts or siva ganas were playing games and the referee being found partial being reprimanded/ punished etc as we come across in modern sports..games...etc...But anybody who is punished is given a boon or chance by performing some parihara by observing Varlakshmi Nombu. This article read by all women should instil them doing vratha from now onwards in their famiies and allow the progeny to continue for furture generations.

Incidentally I have come across similar puja like Chath Puja Chath Maiya and the Goddess worshipped is Chathi Maya known as Usha in Veda . She is believed to be the consort of Surya, the sun God.It is performed every year in order to thank Surya for sustaining life on earth and a prayer for granting certain wishes..The sun is  source of energy and worshipped during Chath is believed to cure a variety of diseases and ensure longevity and prosperity of all members of the family. Chath is observed in Bihar, Nepal, etc,,,and similar pujas or nombus done by different persons of various regional states...

Sumangali prarthanai performed by Brahmin familes of Soth India is also done occasionally for seeking blessing of ladies in families as sumangalis...with a real story behind it which I am not narrating here.

It is absolutely evident that the women in families undertake all troubles or duties in performing such pujas, vrathas, nombus, etc with the ultimate aim of securing prosperity to the whole family or the universe... In fact it is no exaggeration if we treat any woman in the family as an embodiment of Goddess Mahalakshmi in human form..May be just to remember we have names of women as Lakshmi,Rajalakshmi,Subbalskhmi,Srilakshmi, etc,,,and by calling them by name invoke Goddess Lakshmi

We pray God or Goddess to shower all good things to all..

Walking daily is a requirement.....

Why should one start walking ?

We are advised by our Physicians and others at home to walk atleast 30 to 60 minutes daily. One of the best things we can do for our body ,mind and spirit is by walking brisk daily In addition to burning extra calories of our system,it helps reduce unwanted weight in the body. One of the ways of reducing obesity is by walking 5 miles per day..

If we are inactive by remaining idle at home, adding a 20 minute brisk walk would reduce our premature death risk as much as 30 percent

Walking is considered as an exercise to prevent heart disease Also it reduces LDL bad cholesterol and increases HDL..Good chloresterol .For diabetics it increases uses of insulin and helps maintain normal blood sugar level ...

It is also reported useful  for avoiding Dementia, tones body, prevents miscarriage, and beneficial to breast cancer patients...

There are many more advantages of walking...for human beings.  Let us make use of the benefits by daily walking...

The Maths of walking and not losing weight..

If you eat fewer calories than you use daily you lose weight

If you eat more calories than you use daily, you gain weight.

Hence to lose weight you need to eat lesser calories and /or burn more calories
daily.

Mind is the most valuable part of human body.Thinking talking, imagining, writing, etc involve activity of brain or mind.In the process of daily walk we can make use of the mind by thinking many a matter and writing down them later .We can preserve many important posts in blogs for use .The activity of brain and the physical activity through walk help us improve our health.

While in India being a senior citizen with possible deterioration in health  I had made it compulsory to walk daily. In USA  where I am now on visit also I try to continue with daily walk.

Ofcourse I ask my spouse also to walk daily as it is required more for  her being a little obese .We go for walk separately lest we may talk other matters if we go together during walk.

While Ultraviolet rays of sun  and radiation , other  rays  may be harnful to humans,it is preferable to avoid hot sun during walk.

This matter I thought while I went for walk today..

It was 2 PM

I had to go out for getting printout of our boarding passes etc.  I went and spoke to my fruit vendor Lakshmi about my voyage abroad She enquired how long I will stay there and later conveyed good wishes for happy stay abroad and return

I felt happy seeing her. ..and realized I would miss her for some months

I was happy to see Lakshmi...back...

We shifted to our newly bought flat at
Thiruvanmiyur in December,2009.

From the day of my coming here,I got acquainted with a few persons like the Physician,Flower vendor one male Murugan near Bhavani Medu and another woman Lakshmi near the vegetables market.I buy fruits from Lakshmi frequently and considered  her like my own sister .

Last month I had gone to my physician Dr Capt Prabhu for personal bloodsugar increase with my wife. It was night 9.30 .While waiting in the Clinic, we saw Lakshmi having breathing problems probably bronchial asthma was administered some oxygen or menthol steam  there .  she went to Physician who diagnosed her ,gave her medicines ..While she, being fat ,came out I assisted her sitting down, getting medicines from the pharmacy, saw her name as Lakshmi in the prescription...She went home with difficulty with the tablets etc bought...

I was thinking what happened to Lakshmi and going near market to see if she has come back healthy for last three weeks.Yestetday evening while I was going with my wife near the market saw her sitting on the roadside selling plantains as usual I felt relieved having seen her didnit go to her as my wife was with me.

Today just now I went alone  to the  market for some wrist watch work, saw her .I enquired  about her health ...before that she enquired ...onga udambu eppadi irukku sir..means how is your health sir...I thanked her .found she is ok .and said that physician is like God..she took his medicines, etc. became alright.

I felt happy Lakshmi is back to normal advised her to not expose body to wind, etc and avoid eating banana,c urd,ice cream, etc .She was happy..

This is life ..Lakshmi Is back....

Asthma care. Precaution ...immunity...long life...

On 16 th June by 9 .30 AM I had need to go to ATM of Axis Bank,Thiruvanmiyur,Chennai. I had gone to the Medical store to replenish weekly requirements  of medicines plus some Woodward's gripe water for grandchildren in USA As I had not carried required, cash I stepped into the ATM .for cash withdrawal.. Hi..I opened the door found an old man security sitting in the corner There was AC inside...He was counting or cutting some tablets...I asked him his health condition...he said in Tamil he suffers from asthma ...and takes these tablets. He said the cause being pollution in air etc.

I told him it may be due to other allergy like pollen of Parthenium weed, etc found more in Bangalore and in Chennai too I advised him to cut the 4 MG Asthalin  tablets into two and take one piece.   Never in empty stomach...Again he showed some Inhalor...Asthalin...I advised him not to use it or other Inhalers containing betamethasone, etc being steroids which  trigger hypertension later

During talk I advised him as experienced by me to have ventilation in room where he sleeps, avoid AC rooms, avoid eating bananai,ce cream, tamarind, curd, heavy meals, etc Do pranayama or exercise .ir yoga .daily ..Donot drink ice water from fridge .. Donot sleep in daytime...and a few other tips .from personal experience...

Again I told him to sit outside ATM room and get fresh air.

I also told him asthmatics have immunity towards some other diseases and live longer.  He felt happy...may be I could not help an old person any further.

Perhaps many of our health problems,we Can share the  cure to others and help them .

We read many informative material in net ,media, etc. . daily.. yesterday I saw in newspapers/net that  drinking hot coffee or hot  drinks over 60 degree Celsius is carcinogenic ..   .
Also found ultraviolet rays , other radiations, etc found in Sun rays are harmful..to skin...so also consuming  stale food, vegetables , fast-food,etc...Again  excessive use of sweeteners, etc. Is,harmful Also radiation from cellphone, use of hair dye,etc are in the list among others. It is required we uodate the information and attempt to follow and advise others...There is more evidence about passive exposure to humans from cigarette smoking etc and Government  issues  warning slogans through media. ..and the public should know the matter and avoid smoking....

Prevention is always better than cure....

Why court Dabedar calls the witness's or guilty',s name three times?

Why court Dabedar calls the witness or guilty's name three times ?

 Best Answer

it is a customary practice to call three times so that it reaches the ears of the witness or the accused
even in auctions also, the bidding price is pronounced three times.
the number three has some important value.
In sports three people are given awards, first second and third.

Ofcourse I was reminded of the childhood of my daughter Chitra . We were in Madras Since 1982.She was in LKG or some class in St.John's School,Mandevalli....near our house at Karpagam Avenue, RA Puram. While she would be sleeping beside me ,she wouldn't get up early by 6 AM to get ready and reach school by 8.After my coffee I used to call her three times...in different names like.

CHITRAA ..

CHITREY

CHITRAM

She used to get up slowly get ready ...by which time I would have done her homework..in handwriting resembling hers..

I was reminded of similar calling in courts of the accused etc but here it was not accused but ........

City's oldest college finds new home

Old Josephites will sigh remembering their days cycling to the lovely arched and woody college premises on Residency Road. However, the imposing stone structure has been declared unsafe, and the college now has a new location.

The hostel block of the college.

THE OLDEST college in Bangalore, the St. Joseph's, has begun a new phase in its career, in a new home, and a new location.

Many might question the statement that it is the oldest college. It is perhaps the oldest surviving college. The Central College was started in 1875 (it was opened as a school in 1858), seven years before St. Joseph's College came to existence. Bangalore University has retained the Central College campus and has closed down the institution which was the premier science college of Karnataka. Thus, St. Joseph's College becomes the oldest.

For someone who keeps track of Bangalore's changing scenario, will at once realise that in the case of St. Joseph's the relocation is from one crowded road to another, and that too a narrower one. It is a problem faced by most old educational institutions which are finding themselves in uncongenial environs. This correspondent recalls a speech delivered at the University Law College many years ago by that cerebral former chief justice of the Mysore High Court, the late A.R. Somanatha Iyer, who had said that the college could not have had a worse location, the junction of the crowded Kempegowda Road and the Palace Road. Since then urban blight has overwhelmed the place.

The main culprit being the KSRTC which turned the Palace Road, the serene avenue it was, into a second Kalasipalya running its Doddaballapur bound buses from there.

However, in the case of St. Joseph's, it was neither the heavy traffic nor the crowd of Residency Road which precipitated the relocation. Its main block, the venerable 19th Century building in stone came to be declared unsafe, and the Fathers of the Society of Jesus, who are running the institution since 1939, had to consider a new home. Fortunately they had the college's hostel ground at the nearby Lalbagh Road-Langford Road junction, for building the new campus. But the many lovers of sports regret that a playground had to make way for the new building. Two decades ago, the management of the St. Joseph's group of institutions had utilised a part of another playground they had owned on the Mahatma Gandhi Road (Primrose Road junction) for a commercial building.

Though it is exciting to travel down the alley of memory and write about the boys and the relatively small number of girls who spent their best years on the old campus, one cannot dismiss the fact that even revisiting is an ordeal. For some years now, one could not enter the St. Joseph's College from the Asirvatham Circle side. To cope with the increased traffic, the police first erected a median and followed it with railings in the "Berlin Wall" style. The college boys who came on bicycles and other two- wheelers were forced to go upto the old Reserve Bank Circle and enter the other half of the Residency Road to reach their college. Even from the other side, thanks to the one way system, the students could not enter their college from the St. Mark's Road. The old campus had almost been marooned in the rising tide of vehicular traffic.

``Where on earth is Asirvatham Circle?'' one might ask. It had the old and more popular name of Field Marshal Cariappa Circle. The City Corporation had named it after Prof. S.A. Asirvatham who was teaching history in St. Joseph's College. With the same civic body renaming the place and the police destroying the small traffic island which existed there, what is lost is one of the very few public places named after a teacher. The Residency Road was a quiet retreat even in the early Seventies. Bungalows lined the road from Richmond Circle upto Mayo Hall. One of the little patronised hotels on the road was believed to be haunted. The Josephites of those days, who are now in their greying and balding middle age, used to ride their bicycles with abandon. The only groups of people to be beheld on the road were students of the college and the schools around it. So few were the commercial establishments around, that most of those who worked there were familiar faces. The stretch of the Residency Road in front of the college was narrow those days and the Sacred Heart's Girls' School (also called Good Shepherd Convent) opposite the college was within beckoning distance. It was in the Fifties that the new block was built behind the old building bringing even the Bishop Cotton Girls' School closer to St. Joseph's. No wonder, the students in the mid-Fifties spoke of feeling the laral presence of Ms. Drayton, the British principal of Bishop Cotton Girls' School, who was murdered in 1953. The police of those days had bungled up the case by arresting the wrong person.

The new building of the college.

If a sepulchral silence pervaded the Residency Road-St. Mark's Road area at night, at least one road around the college, Convent Road, bore an eerie look even in the day. Some of the boys in the age gone by used to call the narrow stretch of the Residency Road the "chicken's neck". In the early Seventies the civic body, acquired a stretch of the Sacred Heart School's playground and widened the Road. Then followed the "development" of Bangalore, the big boom in building activity and crass commercialisation. The bungalows vanished and traffic generating offices, shops, restaurants, sordid pubs, and night joints took their place. For example, the Devonshire House and its vast grounds yielded place to Galaxy Cinema and a congerie of buildings. For the older generation of Josephites, it was Imperial, New Opera, Rex, Plaza, Liberty, and Empire which showed films made in Hollywood or Europe. The new campus of St. Joseph's College was once part of the garden around a bungalow, "Langford House", named after a 19th Century Britisher, Col. Pears Leslie Langford. A remnant of the bungalow still exists on the first cross, Langford Gardens. which links Lalbagh Road with Cornwell Street. Langford House came to be owned by C. Rangacharlu, who was the first Dewan of Mysore (1881-83), after its Rendition by the British. His descendants had lived in it. One of its better known tenants was Sir Albion Rajkumar Bannerji who was the Dewan from 1922 to 1926. The Lalbagh Road was a narrow thoroughfare till it was widened in the late Seventies. However the construction of the flyover has defeated that step. On account of its location in the erstwhile Bangalore Civil and Military Station which was ruled from Fort St. George in Madras, St. Joseph's College remained in the control of the University of Madras till the retrocession of the station to Mysore State, after Independence. Central College broke loose of Madras and became part of University of Mysore in 1916. The location was another reason why St. Joseph's drew its students from a limited area, the Cantonment and regions of Andhra Pradesh close to Bangalore and also parts of erstwhile Madras State, whereas Central College attracted students from all over Mysore State as it was the university's only science college for long. No wonder the roll of honour of the latter is long and more varied. However, the composition of students at St. Joseph's was more cosmopolitan, though it was a Roman Catholic institution.

One of the better known of the former principals of St. Joseph's was the Rev. Father Thomas Gonsalves, who headed the institution during the Second World War (1939-45). A big name among its professors in the Forties was that of the Rev. Dr. Ferroli (mathematics). There were other noted academics on its rolls such as Professors P.K. Venkata Rao (English), G. Gangadharan (mathematics), Rev. C. Andrade, Rev. L. Fezzi, Principal Elias D'Souza (mathematics), Principal Menezes, and P.S. Narayana Rao (commerce), Sivasubramaniam (physics), J. Michael (economics), A. Dominick, and A.P.L. D'Souza (economics), B.R.A. Rao and N. Balasubramanian (political science), Clement Arulnathan, and B.J. Mathews (history). Shamanna (botany), Nagaraja Sastry (sociology), P.K. Balasubramanian, and G.K.Govinda Rao (Commerce College) (English), A.R. Mitra (Kannada), K. Gururaja Hebbar (chemistry), and Thandaveshwara Rao. A prominent academic in recent years was the noted environmentalist, Father Cecil Saldanha (botany) who passed away recently.

Precautions to be taken when you are alone

Hardly she has stayed away from me for more than two days after retirement in 2007. During  my service of 40 years,I have been away from her for over seven years on account of Bank's transfers to various places like  Trichur,Quilon,Phaltan,Mumbai Inspection and Audit,Tuticorin,Majhgaon Bihar, etc During such period of separation,  She was happy at Head Quarters Chennai with children taking care of children and all other things.. That is all over .

Now she is away from home  for a fortnight on some urgent domestic work.So it became necessary  for me to cook food at home ...

Especially after rice is cooked, when excess starch or liquid kanji is there, removing it by placing a plate at 45 degrees and allow the hot excess  liquid drop One day the whole thing fell down  when I was removing it from stove, burnt right hand thigh...skin  above the femur  a little. I applied some ointment or face cream easily found .. it became all right ..but when I telephoned her she shouted saying you don't know even this.

Next is switching off gas stove  cooker oven control knob by turning it right or left  after use which I forget invariably and she smells gas and comes running inside This we should take care.

Next is touching hot lid of vessel making sambar etc.  Got fingers burnt two days back. Put. some ointment.  No other medicine...

Similarly, some idukki or hot pakad touched my stomach gave a burn .Again ointment applied.

But did not tell her all these, as her reaction   would increase the pain of burns

But I have seen her getting hurt or burnt similarly despite her long experience and expertise in cooking..When I ask her she says it is nothing .it .will go away .

But she reminds  me daily through telephone by asking....did you switch off unwanted light, fans,AC,,did you supervise the maidservant, did you wash your cloths without using washing machine, did you telephone to any of your people in my absence, did you clean fridge, remove trash, etc ,. Fortunately I don't know telephone numbers of many relatives  and Facebook friends who perhaps know my plight   What to do... This is life..

Errors we make unknowingly..

Among many errors or mistakes we make in life I narrate a few briefly....

I must have been 6 or seven years old. I was studying in 2nd class in Vivekodayam Boys High School,Trichur   My parents although not wealthy used to see children boy or girl wears  golden ear stud always. I too was wearing may be  just 1 sovereign. In the drill class or somewhere I remembered later someone unscrewed and took away my studs. In the house on their asking told them what happened...The mistakes are of parents sending children with golden ornaments and the carelessness of children or call them ...asadu in Tamil they say samarthyam illai...

I was stationed at Bombay for two years working in Inspection and Audit Department of the Bank. I used to visit Chennai once in 3  months where wife and family lived and stay with them for 3 to 4 days adjusting leave,Holiday S,etc.
I was travelling from Mumbai to Chennai in 1998...in II tier compartment...with my box full of Bombay articles for family, children, etc ...golden wristwatch, gold  chain, purse with tickets, money etc.  sleeping on the berth  during night . .I had kept the box unchained to the seat in the side adjacent to door under RAC seats and kept my purse in pant pockets  .After the train  crossing Pune early morning I found  my box, wristwatch, chain, tickets, money, etc missing.  I tried to lodge a complaint at the nearest station but no use  There was no result in my filing complaints at Central Railway Station ..Police.,Chennai on my reaching   Chennai. Here the mistakes were mine.... not tying box to seat, sleeping  without attention of mind

They used to  identify and recognize my nature  in my  house..and say...Raghavana eeasiya emattalam..means you can cheat Raghavan easily     I got encouragement....It added to my talents...Ofcourse my elder sisters Lakshmi and  Bhagavathi along  with my mother used to be innocent or paavum and I used to tell them all matters untrue yet believed by them ..

.
The latest incident   was last week my  giving  the ATM card PIN no to someone over telephone ..who cheated me around Rs 12557.....Mistake mine...never give Password or PIN to anyone...Also donot post or give your cellphone numbers in public network etc. Also donot believe unknown persons....

In 2007 I was returning home in a bus from Puraswalkam Chennai to Mandevalli with my hand  bag and purse in pant pocket containing Bank Card,Driving licence, money etc and near Kilpauk. Bus  Stop when bus stopped I saw fellows getting down in crowd.. One of them had picked my pocket taken purse, cash perhaps thrown out Driving licence,PAN card,Bank Card,..I reached home My daughter Chitra contacted banks got the balances in the account relating to card lost or stolen to some other account, got the lost card hotlisted, etc. It took quite sometime to get new PAN,Driving licence etc..Mistake.. Mine .. should be vigilant in bus travel, never carry original Licence, PAN,etc unless needed.

Ofcourse ladies should avoid wearing gold chains and go alone in secluded places  My wife used to go to nearby Bhuvaneswari temple in Coimbatore  in the morning and evening  2001 or 2002. One evening while she was about to reach the temple near our house walking, two persons riding a TVS 50 moped came near her, stopped the vehicle, snatched a costly  gold chain she was wearing and sped away  The two thirumangalyams and some balls attached  to the chain fell on  the ground which she collected and held safe and brought home  She was injured  in the neck...although she shouted  for help ,nobody from  nearby houses came forward ..She came home crying and there was  no  favourable  result after approaching the nearest police station and  making a complaint ..Here  the...Mistake ..... My wife's.  ..she should not wear gold chain easily visible to others... .should close all parts, ornaments worn,,etc suitably in public places .

We should be careful anywhere in public. We learn by experience and by losing money....Women should take more care and precautions and men should obey them . .

Carry your Personal ID Proof always with you....

I had to rush to Tiruchirapalli by bus a few days back with my wife. ...Probably for the first time  I forgot to carry my ID proof..with me and in bus it was not necessary .

While getting a return rail ticket online  at Turuchirapalli ,it was done by a relative at home  and  I got the SMS in my smartphone  PNR number.,etc  Later it was realized ID proof would be needed for all e tickets  On my contacting my son in law in USA he could trace out my Passport ,scan it and send it to me through e mail .I took a printout of it.

But my wife told me in one of her previous trips I had given her a  copy of her PAN ..and she had to face a situation of paying penalty  She was heard murmuring and complaining about me to others.

Here I got into Pallavan Express with e ticket  at Tiruchirapalli Junction ..and  a copy of my Passport. The TTR verified many e tickets hard copies and others through smartphone, and for some original PAN,etc .When he saw me he would have  been convinced that I was a senior citizen and he asked for  my original ID proof   When I told him the situation under which I travelled etc,he quoted the Railway rules treating such a  journey as  one without ticket and the penalty amount of Rs.250/...or so as per Railway extant rules

He said    ""I am leaving you but if the squad catches you may be fined."" Till I got down at Mambalam Station and came out of  the entrance  reaching  Ranganathan Street,I was afraid I may be fined like my wife who got  caught  once   for not possessing original ID proof

It is required one carries original proof of Identity like Aadhar Card,Voter ID,PAN,Driving licence etc for avoiding similar situations...

What is blood relationship , contract of marriage, what is Divine human relationship and what is Facebook relationship. ?????....,

We are born in this world through a natural process and become the children of parents as related to us  .In a  similar process, our siblings are borne and become related to parents. We become related to our siblings by virtue of being children of same parents or more specifically of same mother and become blood relations...The hierarchy of blood relations get extended through genetic or blood relationships producing legal heirs or coparceners in the universe... linking the ancestors with the descendants...

Brother, sister, mother, father, cousin, uncles, aunts ,etc become blood relations.

One gets married to another person.   Here the relationship prevailing is one caused as a result of legal contract of marriage between a man and a woman.

We come across many persons in the world.  We do not closely observe and feel  the divine qualities or characters of our siblings or Spouse or parents, or our descendants. We  are blessed  in this  world for being in the midst of  certain divine persons  who are not our blood relations..We realise and recognize the said divinity...in  male  or female,on account of  his or her  nature , character, appearance, activities, level of knowledge, attitudes, tolerance, patience ,faith in God, etc.  as perceived by us .We preserve and cherish  them in our minds  and  hearts as God and feel personally associated with them. We wish to remember them, like to see their prosperity and desire for their welfare  .  We feel hurt and unhappy when such individuals are subjected to  any type  agonies in life. We deem  them as Divine and may be we might not have spoken  to or physically  seen such messengers of God.  ..as we donot see  God Almighty in person  or speak directly to God. Of course we can see God in person after developing  faith in Him ,praying Him always with devotion  and realizing his greatness and submitting to Him for attaining Moksha...

Now a group of persons of various interests become our friends in Facebook..we see them through profiles, read their writings, see their family, events ,etc but would somehow feel  them as unrelated social  net work friends.  Many of them would not have seen us in person  and  vice versa .We get option to block or unfriend any of them anytime .

May be there will be other definitions for friendships and relationships But it is absolutely certain that human beings need friends and relations of categories mentioned by me for existence...

Unknown we meet many but known got  mingled  and  live to  depart known to meet again...  with a wish to be born as same siblings, parents, children, descendants, etc....

Bad taste in mouth...temporary.....

This is what I get  to know from website...

A bad taste in the mouth can be a result of a wide range of medical conditions and even everyday situations. Many different kinds of prescription or over-the-counter medications can interfere with the sense of taste and may produce an unpleasant sensation of taste. The feeling of a bad taste in the mouth is usually temporary and improves when the underlying cause is remedied. Consumption of certain foods, or the use of tobacco products, can result in an unpleasant or bad taste in the mouth. Poor dental health and poor hygiene are other potential causes of a bad taste in the mouth.

I am a teetotaller and donot use tobacco products and hence cause from that is ruled out ...

This is a problem....I went to  my Physician ... On 24:12:2015..with slight headache...and bad taste in tongue... He gave a dose of Paracetamol, Ornidazole, some ampicillin or Anti allergy tablets. I became all right .

Incidentally I recollect having taken Nimesulide tablets for some pains  few days back from Drug store  at Tiruchirapalli. That may be the cause for my condition .

Now last week I got same problems...took same dose of antibiotics, etc...feeling better.

It is possible intake of medicines including Aspirin daily without taking vitamin tabs and Calcium tabs may be the reason. Ofcourse other remedial measures like taking butter milk with salt or lassi also appears OK Although we are required to take Calcium tablets daily, it was discontinued and am taking Calcium tablets  from yesterday Also take vendhayam or uluva in Malayalam or Fenugreek Seeds crushed  in water fully dissolved taken may reduce the problem.
""
Fenugreek seeds are used in colic flatulencee, dysentery, diarrhoea, dyspepsia, chronic cough, enlargement of liver and spleen, rickets, gout and diabetes, Also used as carminative, tonic and aphrodisiac.""

No doubt regular brushing teeth with salt rich toothpaste and using mouthwash and tongue cleaner etc also help reduce the temporary problem.

One thing I note is  when you take fruits with sugar content or coffee with flavour and  chicory , the feeling is much reduced.

This must be a regular occurrence for many .I think some Homeopathic drugs may do better.

As a layman I read somewhere it may be due to bacterial infection on tongue. How to find out these bacteria ...?

We have to face all these try to know the cause and remedy...What else to do,???
